[January 16, 2012] With Christmas and another very successful series of community Christmas parties behind us, the staff is getting back into the swing of things. A wonderful group of college students recently blessed us for a group week, and now we're staying warm working on a carport, a front porch, a wall, and insulation and underpinning, playing with our puppy Oscar Romero, and improving things around the farm. With Eric, Jesse, Jordan, and Nathanial leaving our community soon, we're actively looking for new staff members and a new project coordinator, so if you know anyone - let them know!
[July 8] Summer! A time filled with group weeks, hot humid days, and lots of great roofing, siding, and deck projects. With 6 group weeks under our belt since the beginning of May and tons of new sojourners, staff members (Kristina, Zack, Matt, Kate) and a new van running around, things have been wonderfully busy and productive. We've also been eating great from our brimming gardens, and the word on the street says that the tomatoes are just starting to come in! We can't wait for the last four high school weeks and family week to finish off the summer, and pray that all of you have a fulfilling July/August.
[April 7] Spring is here! March was a month
filled with precipitation and cold days with some wonderful volunteers
thrown in the mix. Three more college weeks followed by one high
school week means a ton of fun with time whizzing by. Dry-walling,
painting, and ramp and deck building filled our days and hopefully were
great ways to spend a spring break. We here look forward to some
more beautiful days, a great Holy Week and a renewing Easter. We
pray you have the same!
[February 2] Happy Groundhog Day! A month
into the new year and so much has happened - two awesome college weeks,
a sweet board meeting and way too much tiling. With the help of
some great volunteers we dry walled, underpinned, installed new floors
and ceilings, and built some stairs. And for the better part of
two weeks the staff worked on redoing our pantry, mudroom, snack
counter, and bathroom. Check out the photos in the "Farm Projects"
link to the left!
[December 8] After a fun-filled October and
November with a couple of group weeks and some great projects, the
Nazareth Farm staff "took up the reins" of our Christmas efforts!
Plenty of gift wrapping, cookie baking and way too much Christmas music
got the staff into the holiday spirit to spread lots of yuletide joy all
over North Central West Virginia. Many thanks to all that
supported us for our Christmas efforts. It's the most wonderful
time of our year!
[October 3] Updates to the website: photos of
summer worksites have been posted, along with an updated list of our
Board members and a bio for our newest staff member, Eric. We also
said goodbye to Randy only a little while ago, who will soon be followed
by Amy. We will miss them and keep them in our prayers.
Lastly, Fall is beautiful!
